Surveyor - Brisbane

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Surveyor / Geomatics Engineer at Mangoesmapping Pty Ltd in Brisbane, QLD. As a Surveyor, you will undertake field surveys, using a wide range of technologies to deliver accurate, precise and useful information for our clients. You will embrace industry-leading 3D/BIM data collection technologies. You may work closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure accurate measurements and provide essential information for projects.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Field survey - you’ll be based full-time at a client site in Brisbane, embedded as part of the contract engineering, construction and 3D as-constructed documentation team, assisting to deliver projects from start to finish. You'll work behind-the-scenes in a fascinating and complex environment.

  • Processing - You will reduce all your own total station data. Depending on your capabilities and interests, you may have the opportunity to assist in processing the scanned data into 3D BIM and as-constructed engineering models.

  • Working with clients - Your role will be central to building strong client relationships and delivering value.

  • Have curiosity to innovate – The surveying industry is constantly evolving, with new methods and technologies emerging regularly. When you spot an improvement or opportunity, we encourage you to explore it and share your ideas, helping us confidently innovate.

Desired Qualifications/ Experience:

Successful applicants will hold a Bachelor’s degree in surveying or a related area such as geomatics, although people currently studying or with experience working in this field should not be discouraged from applying.

The following skills, knowledge and personal traits are highly regarded:

  • Years of experience with total stations across different manufacturers, as well as the knowledge to assess the accuracy/precision, calibrate and adjust
  • Strong knowledge of GNSS technologies – practical applications and the theory behind it
  • Strong understanding of levelling, best practices, and an ability to check your work and fix errors
  • Ability to distil client requirements into a survey methodology that is fit-for-purpose
  • Proficient with field collection and processing using LiDAR technologies
  • Have knowledge of survey best-practice and an attitude to do something right the first time
  • Interest in understanding geospatially related emerging technologies such as robotics, autonomous navigation, digital surveying, and 3D models/digital twins
  • Experience liaising with clients and building long term professional relationships
  • Capacity to independently manage priorities
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Enthusiasm to be trained, supported, and mentored to grow into a valued team member.

Surveyor - Atherton, Queensland

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Surveyor at Mangoesmapping Pty Ltd in Atherton, QLD. As a Surveyor, you will undertake field surveys, using a wide range of technologies to deliver accurate, precise and useful information for our clients. You may work closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure accurate measurements and provide essential information for projects.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Field survey- you’ll get out in the field and deliver projects from start to finish, and get the opportunity to work in some amazing places in far north Queensland.

  • Processing - Since we don't have a separate drafting team, you’ll manage both data collection and reduction, with quality assurance support to back you up.

  • Working with clients - We’re fortunate to partner with a diverse range of clients. One day, you might be surveying assets for a local council; the next, conducting an aerial survey post-landslide or establishing control at a remote site. Your role will be central to building strong client relationships and delivering value.

  • Share knowledge – Your broad expertise in surveying technology allows you to guide and educate our team, helping us deepen our technical insights and potentially grow our sales capability. Additionally, you may occasionally provide GNSS survey training to clients, helping them get the most from their equipment.
